The 21st annual international conference "NICOGRAPH International {{datex.year}}", Organized by the Society for Art and Science will take place during {{datex.month1}} {{datex.days}}, {{datex.year}} Online.
NICOGRAPH has quarter-century history. Its foundation can be traced back to 1985. The time-honored annual conferences have been organized by the Society for Art and Science since 2000, which aim at promoting the research combining science and art in computer graphics and related fields as well as to advance the development of interactive media art. In 2002, the first international conference NICOGRAPH International rose out of the domestic series, and since then NICOGRAPH international conference has been organized annually.
From 2016, all accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings to be published by Conference Publishing Services (CPS) (https://www.computer.org/conferences/cps) and submitted to the IEEE Xplore and Computer Society digital libraries.

Submission categories include full paper (up to 8 pages), short paper (up to 4 pages) and poster (1 page). NICOGRAPH International 2022 reviewing is single blind, in that authors are not shared the names of the reviwers, but the reviewers know the authors.
All accepted submissions will be included in the conference proceedings to be published by Conference Publishing Services (CPS) (https://www.computer.org/conferences/cps/author-faq) and submitted to the IEEE Xplore and Computer Society digital libraries and submitted for possible indexing through INSPEC, EI (Compendex), Thomson ISI, and other indexing services. However, depending on the number of submissions, not all poster presentations can be published in the IEEE CPS. Authors of all accepted full papers will be invited to submit a revised version to the special issue of Journal of The Society of Art and Science. The papers must be written in English, and use the following templates for preparing you papers:
IEEE Templates (DOC, Latex, Overleaf) (8.5" x 11", US Letter)
Authors may optionally upload supplementary material, which may include videos, audios and images to showcase results/demo of the proposed approach/system. With the electronic submission system, you can submit your papers and edit your submission as many times as you need before the submission deadline. The authors are encouraged not to wait till the submission deadline and register their paper titles and abstracts as earlier as possible to facilitate the reviewing process. By submitting a paper the authors confirm that their paper represents original previously unpublished work, and if accepted, at least one of the authors will register for the conference and present the paper.
Authors can submit papers related to what has already been published in journals or conference proceedings. However, please be aware of the copyright rules of the previous publication, and be sure to cite the publication, especially, in case it has been published in a journal paper or a reviewed international proceeding. Authors also need to clarify a difference or progress from the previous publication. The previous publication is necessary to be uploaded through a submission form for the reviewing purpose.

CG research in the digital industry should provide
tools/systems/workflows useful in the workplace. Technical novelty may
therefore be an important factor of the industry-oriented research,
but not always a top priority.
In this talk, I would like to showcase how to find and solve
industry issues through international research collaborations across
companies and academia, based on my experiences over years. The
specific technical topics will come from 3D anime, facial animation
and geometry processing of millions of polygons. In addition, I will
briefly discuss the future of CG research, emphasizing on the
importance of advanced mathematical approaches
Ken Anjyo is an executive advisor (former CTO) for OLM Digital, Inc.
and the director for Advanced Research Group at IMAGICA GROUP, Inc. He
is also Professor at CMIC of Victoria University of Wellington, New
Zealand since 2018. While heading the company's R&D, he has
facilitated many joint research projects with domestic and
international universities and companies.
He has been active for SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH Asia programs over
years, including those of Technical Papers, Courses, Electronic
Theater, Production Session, and Panel as an author, organizer or
committee member. He chaired SIGGRAPH Asia 2018 held in Tokyo. He
co-founded the ACM Digital Production Symposium (DigiPro) in 2012.
His recent research activities focus on avatarization (human
modeling and character animation) and on mathematics for CG (e.g. Lie
group/algebra, Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space, and Discrete
Differential Geometry).
Kansei is important in all artistic activities. The approach of Kansei studies is highly compatible with the arts and is related to the quality of life and human satisfaction. In this session, we will invite three researchers to talk about Kansei studies, focusing on the feelings of fragrance, well-being in tourism, and textural expression of fabrics.
Creation of Fragrance Suited to User's Feelings by Mixing Aroma Sources based on Interactive Evolutionary Computation, Makoto Fukumoto (Fukuoka Institute of Technology)
Well-being with KANSEI: Support to Positive Experiences in Tourism, Akihiro Ogino (Kyoto Sangyo University)
Fabric Texture Expression and Recognition in Online Shopping, Tomoharu Ishikawa (Utsunomiya University)
We will invite researchers whose research themes are Art and Entertainment with a focus on HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) to talk about their research. They will introduce their research activities, focusing on how they conducted their research, which also has aspects of artwork and contents, and how they handled the theme of Art and Entertainment, which is difficult to evaluate numerically.
Art Meets Material Interaction and Technology, Junichi Yamaoka (Keio University)
Research through Experience: Research Process Bridging HCI, Art, and Entertainment, Shigeo Yoshida (OMRON SINIC X Corp.)
Augmented Performance, Shuhei Tsuchida (Kobe University)
